Christmas Story

Twas the day before Christmas and all through the house,
all the kids were a scury just like a mouse.
All the nuts on the table had been shelled just right,
when mom walked in it ws a messy sight.
With ma out shopping and dad to babysit,
This was too cute she couldn't through a fit.
With all the excitement he just couldn't wait,
Kade was the one to get everyone a wake.
With eyes still a blurr and excitment growing,
they came down the hall to see the tree just a glowing.
Soon presents were scatered from here and to there,
A sure sign Santa had been here.
From Scotters, tamagatchi's and pokemans too,
It's not over now we get to go to Grandmas, Waa-hoo.
With all said and done and new memories to share,
Merry Christmas to all and a happy New Year.

December Cheer

It is still two weeks before Christmas so the stress hasn't fully enveloped us. Although, I have sure noticed a posotive change in myself. Tonight as the kids where acting totally crazy laughing then arguing with one another I just had a sense of rightness. My kids are Healthy and happy. Afterall it is healthy to argue with your siblings and healthy to want stuff. They are in schooland learning so thats healthy. They have food, beds, and toys. A functional family as opposed to a "dis"functional family. Being raised in this kind of environment it just seem natural but tonight I truely felt blessed. Then to make me smile more Ben started wrestling with the kids. That always makes me smile because everyone is laughing.

Happy Turkey Day

We had a great Thanksgiving Holiday. We had Thanksgiving day with Grandma and Grandpa Fox, then on Friday we had a BBQ with Grandpa Turley, and then Sunday we had Thanksgiving with Grandma and Pa Funk. We all gained 5-10 pounds except the kids it burned off before they got up from the table. And to kick off Chirstmas each of the kids got to decorate a Gingerbread house.

Backyard Fun

It is November and it is SO nice outside. In the evening the temprature is 60`-70`. It is really hard not to be outside. They are doing road work on the road to the west of us and so we take the kids over and let them ride in the dirt and let them be free. We don't have to worry much about the traffic on that road. We get a lot of use out of the trampoline this time of year. And the kids are finally able to make baskets in the to-rusted-to-adjust hoop. The kids love to rub Ben. This day he ingeniously named it the Kid Spa.

Halloween fun

Hallow's Eve night we turned the lights down low lit some candles for effect and had a feast of Witchs Hands with a side order of hair and eyeball goolosh. Mason just started eating. Kade and Porter had a harder time with it. Even after I told them what it was. Then when dinner was over we carved pumpkins. And since the kids are older I wouldn't scrape the guts out, I made them.

My kids are getting big enough I don't worry so mugh about them getting lostin the parking lot at Trunk-or treet. Ben and I just stay by our car and pass out candy and get to visit with everyone while the boys go colecting the candy. This year was the first year we dressed up. It was a lot of fun. I was the Little Red Ridding Hood who escaped from the wolf and Ben was the Big bad wolf. I had tear marks on my cape where he tried to get me. But as we all know wemon Rule. I was a little scraped up but he didn't eat me and now he follows me around like a puppy dog. (beings he can't see through his mask.) Some little kids wouldn't come near the car. A 4 year old little girl stood back and said "Mommy, I HATE that one." We had fun. The boys did to. Kade was the Grim Reeper, Mason was Darth Vadar and Porter was Spider Man.

Good times.

The kids had a primary party. It was a drive-in movie. They were all to make cardboard cars, with a little help. After the party we converted the basement quest room to a garage. Kade's car was a hummer, Mason's a truck with a bed, and Porter's was a herbie.

Special Days

Kade got baptized on Saturday April 6 2007. It was a good program and the baptism went well. Kade was proud of himself that he only had to get dunked once. Afterwards we went to our house and had a Cowboy themed birthday party. We roped cows while ridding a horse, and watched Fivvel goes west. The party went well and we all had a good time visiting.

Road Trip

Kristy and I have wanted to go see Tiff since she moved out to Idaho, so we finaly did. We went up to Salt Lake and stayed with Aunt Kathy, and of course we went shopping. We really like Tia Pan Tradding. We both could have spent more money than we did, but we remained in control.

Back on the road, exploring unchartered teritory, Julie was entertained with driving but the passenger became board. The drive wasn't bad ,but we did it without kids. Tha landscape reminded us of I-15 Between cedar and the bearvalley exit, without the big hill to the side of you.

We enjoyed visiting witht Tiff and the kids. We had a picnic on the living roomfloor seeings that the table was covered with scrapbook stuff. While Brayden took a nap, Kaylie got her table and scraped with us.

One of my favorites was Tiff sitting on the floor with Brayden eating cereal. Like mother like son. Some thing just never change.

Diamonds are missing

"Diamonds are Missing! Come help Inspector Mason capture the thief and recover the diamonds."
"The thief was last seen at 43 W. 400 S. (mason's house) We will be meeting there Saturday Feb 9 2007 for a briefing, then the investigation will begin. Study the picture below. It is the best picture we have. Se you there. "

Detectives (cousins) came from all around to help capture the thief. They each got a magnifying glass, and then fallowed the foot prints that were all around the house, picking up clues along the way. Then after winding around the house, the caught up to him. and got paid, with a piece of gum, for catching him. The didn't find the diamonds until later. On a bag was a thank you from the Agency(Julie) saying to keep looking and I bet you find where he hid the diamonds. Inside the bag was popcorn. They ate as they watched a pink Panther cartoon. So diamonds(ring pops) were being uncovered under the popcorn. Pretty sneaky.

The party was fun. The kids and parents all got a kick out of it. Thanks to all of those who help track down the thief.

Football Fans

It's the last Game of the season. And Julie is way excited. The kids are sick of all of the hype. Kade rolls his eyes when she starts in on "It's a Superbowl Party!" song. He may not think it is so great now, but we know that its going to be a big deal to him when he's a teenager. He does like his mom though.
It's Game day. The house is clean. Decorations up. Food cooking. Pre-game show on. Just before the guests arrive the "tough marks" must be painted on. Ben started laughing when he saw Julie's face. He said "I am not surprised."

When Porter saw Julie he asked, "mom? Why do you have black under your eyes?" She explained they are "tough marks." He of course then wanted some. But the stipulation was is you were to flex to see if you deserved them. And of course they all did. It was a hit. Even neighborhood kids, Kristy, Sheen and Grandma came to get tough marks. Not a surprise though, only the women got the tough marks. Its kind of gave away who the real football fans are.

It was a great game. The Colts won, Yeah. And it was fun to have everyone over to share the excitement.

Next excitement will be planing Mason's party, then Valentines.
