Belated Birthday Party

Porter turned 9 last week and we are finally having a birthday party.   He wanted to wait a few days after school started to make a few freinds so he could invite them to the party.  He also wanted to go to Bounce U which I didn't want to pay for a bunch of friends so he was torn.  He finally decided to just have the brothers go to Bounce U with him and have the friends over to the house for an activity and cake. The quick decision left me little time to get as carried away with the party as I usually do.  But the birthday boy was all smiles so I guess my job was a success.

Bounce U
On this inflatable you tried to get the flag as high as you can.  Kade liked this one because he could get it the highest., Which was one down from the top.

They all liked the Spider Climb the best.  It is a tower of straps that the climb their way to the top.  Kade had a harder time than his brothers because he is so much bigger, I don't think it is designed to 5ft 120lb kids, so he had to work a little harder, but they all made it to the top many times.

I took a ton of pictures and there were so many of straps in the way this is the only few that turned out.   This is Kade trying to get off the second row.
Porter almost to the top.

They had a  bunch of other inflatables.  These were just a few.

Porter wanted me to take a picture of him in this Tornado booth and make it look like he was flying.   He approved of my skills.

Very fitting.  This is my favorite.  This is what I want at my house.  The gloves weigh a ton.  They could barley hold them up.   And they couldn't help but laugh as they tried to hit each other because they usually were the ones who feel on their buts.

Party
Once we were home Porter patiently waited for his friend to arrive.

This is Porter's first friend at school.  Her name is Rain.  She gave him a Bayblade. The other friend he invited could not come.  But we had a good time anyway.
His family gave him a Creeper.  The balloons are tied to a Creeper (gift bag).  A Creeper is a character that  is in the computer game called Mine Craft that the kids like to play.  Anyway Creepers explode when it is next to you.  So to get his presents  the Creeper had to explode(pop the balloons).  Inside was money.  It worked just like I hoped it would, the money went flying just like in an explosion.

Next we showed Rain what Mine Craft is by watching one of Porter's favorite You Tube Mine Craft music video.
Since Mine Craft is about creating, we made some Mine Craft items out of Perler Beads.  They were all excited for this, thank goodness because without a lot of time this was the best I could come up with.

The finished products.  They all have a list of the things they want to make.  They could have done that all night, and being a mean mom on a school night I made them stop.

Last but not least a Creeper cake. Porter was amazed.    He stood and looked at it for a good three minutes.    I love that kid.   He gets so happy and thoughtful if someone does anything for him.

We did have a little something while visiting Grandma Fox.

He is now a Bear in his Scouting program.  This is the face paint he received during his advancement ceremony.
